Prof. Bala V. Balachandran
Professor Balachandran is the Founder and Dean of the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, India; J. L. Kellogg Distinguished Professor (Emeritus in Service) of Accounting and Information Management at Northwestern University, Illinois, USA ; and the Executive Professor and Strategy Advisor to the Dean, Bauer College at the University of Houston, Texas, USA. During a long and distinguished career, Prof. Balachandran has also served as a consultant to senior management in industry, as well as to the U.S. Air Force, in the areas of accounting, forecasting, and strategic decision support systems, and has provided executive education for various companies and the government. Great Lakes Institute of Management is Prof. Bala’s dream project of putting Chennai on the International Management Education Map. He was awarded the ‘Padmashri’ in 2001 by the Government of India in recognition of his contribution to the education in India.
Mike West has more than 30 years of experience in driving private and public high-tech companies to be among the leaders in their markets. Currently, Mr. West serves on the board for NES Financial and chairs the non-profit board of trustees for William Jessup University, and serves on the board and Exec Committee of the non-profit Pro Athletes Outreach (PAO).
Over the past 17 years, he served on numerous boards i.e. deCarta, acquired by Uber 2015; Dialogic (NASDAQ: DLGC), taken private 2014; and Right Hemisphere, acquired by SAP in 2011. Previously, he was chairman of the board of directors for Extreme Networks (NASDAQ: EXTR) as well as director for Larscom Inc. (acquired by Verilink), Reconnex (acquired by McAfee), and netDialog (acquired by Kana).
Mr. West held executive positions with telecommunication companies such as VINA Technologies, Octel Communications and ROLM Corporation. From 2002 to 2003, he served as CEO of VINA Technologies, Inc., and served as its executive chairman from 1999 to 2003. Served as EVP Lucent technologies 1997-1998 following Lucent’s acquisition of Octel Communications. From 1995-1997 president, COO and a director of Octel Communications, after serving as executive vice president from 1986 to 1995. He held multiple positions with ROLM Corporation from 1979 to 1986.
Dr Yusuf Haque
Dr Yusuf Haque is a cofounder of eXo Imaging, a startup focused on democratizing medical imaging medical imaging using a breakthrough handheld ultrasonic device. He is also CEO and founder of Cinnabar Semiconductors. Earlier from 2008, he is served as CEO of SliceX/Crest Semiconductors focused on data conversion and medical imaging, till these were acquired. Prior to that, he spent 22 years at Maxim Integrated and helped build that into a major Semiconductor Company, helping it grow from a startup to one of the top analog semiconductor IC supplier in the industry. In his last role as General Manager for Maxim’s Signal Processing and Data Converter Business Unit he helped Maxim became the 3rd largest supplier of data convertor ICs worldwide.
He holds over 30 patents and has chaired IEEE ISSCC and CICC Conference sessions. He also served as a guest editor for the Journal of Solid-State Circuits. Dr. Haque has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and an MBA.
